Chris Gonnerman was born in rural northeast Missouri in 1965, and has spent most of his life there. While his work is in various computer-related fields, his passion for games and for writing led to the creation of the Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game rules in 2006 and the Iron Falcon Rules For Classic Fantasy Role-Playing in 2014, followed by several adventure modules and other supplements as well as a handful of less well-known works of fiction.
Chris makes occasional appearances at game conventions and other public game venues, and in 2024 worked with the Fall-Con Convention in Quincy, Illinois to create the Basic Fantasy Adventure Binge, a unique two-day event for almost thirty participants to play up to fourteen hours of Basic Fantasy RPG in a completely new, as-yet unreleased adventure series. This is expected to become an annual event, and the 2025 Adventure Binge is already under development.
